July 2011 - Office of Secretary of Defense Task Force for Business Stability and Operations selects The Marx Group to conduct an Independent Process and Transparency Review for the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan's Ministry of Mines' Amu Darya Oil Tender.

January 2012 - The Marx Group's Independent Process and Transparency Review for the Amu Darya Oil Tender is published on the Ministry of Mines website in conjunction with the award of the Exploration and Production Sharing Contract to CNPCIW, a China-Afghanistan joint venture company. The Marx Group documented more than 400 process steps in the tender process to provide a record of Minister Shahrani's transparency initiative while assisting in real-time efforts to improve transparency throughout the tender process. In contrast to Afghanistan's perception rating as one of the most corrupt nations as determined by Transparency International, the Amu Darya Oil Tender is a world-class model for fairness and transparency -- a testament to the commitment of H.E. Shahrani, Minister of Mines, and his professional staff, and with support from the Inter-Ministerial Commission.
